We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Technical Support Engineer (Mechanical) to join the Asset Delivery team at Yorkshire Water. Could this be you?

New environmental legislation and changing customer expectations mean this is an exciting time to discover opportunities within the water industry. The Asset Delivery team plays a key role in meeting these changing expectations.
The Asset Technical Support Engineering team is a multidisciplinary team covering E, M & I. They lead and support the business in complex investigations, solution creation, managing investment, and regulatory compliance.
The Asset Technical Support Engineer will develop solutions to ongoing incidents, optimize asset reliability, provide engineering support, ensure compliance with standards, analyze asset failure, and collaborate with other engineering teams.
Where you fit in:
* Support the recovery of asset failures and ensure compliance with management procedures and regulations.
* Identify and document asset improvement opportunities in safety, regulatory compliance, and affordability.
* Provide engineering support to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Lead or support Standard Investigations for pollutions and performance shortfalls.
* Ensure robust financial management in all decisions.
* Support the development of engineering strategy and standards.
* Assist in developing frameworks to maximize value from suppliers and partners.
* Update asset information in collaboration with capital partners.
* Review maintenance plans and analyze asset health for improvement.
* Support HazOp, ALM, FMECA, and RVCA studies.
* Manage the delivery of onsite works for minor Mechanical projects.
* Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
What skills & qualifications you will need:
* Formal engineering qualification to a minimum of HNC or equivalent (HND or degree preferred).
* Previous engineering experience in water/waste/sludge treatment.
* Ability to develop and write technical reports and specifications.
* Experience in developing engineering solutions.
* Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis Investigation (RCA).
* Understanding of Management of Change (MoC) procedures.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to influence across multifunctional teams.
* Engagement skills with internal and external customers.
* Proficient in corporate IT Computer Systems (e.g., SAP).
* A full, valid driving licence (with no more than 6 points).
You will also benefit from having:
* Familiarity with internal Control of Work policies.
* Asset management experience in an engineering industry.
* Working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Membership (or working towards membership) of a recognized Engineering Institution.
We embrace a flexible working model, requiring an average of 1-2 days in the office/on-site per week. For those who prefer to work on-site, our office is open Monday-Friday.
