We are currently looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated, full time Senior Booking Assistant within our Clinical Administration booking team, who are based at the Administration Hub in Huntingdon.

You will have responsibility for talking to the patients on the phone, booking appointments and admissions to ensure patients do not wait longer than necessary and entering information into multiple IT systems.
The skills we are looking for are attention to detail, tact, patience, accurate data entry, the ability to liaise with colleagues throughout the Hospital and beyond, excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and respectful manner. Some specialties have a very high numbers of patient calls, so you should expect to spend time on the phone every day.
The ideal candidate will have a strong team work ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under time restraints and pressure at times. This post is open to professionals with the right attributes to enhance a team. We will provide the necessary support to ensure your development within your role.
Main duties of the job
1. Provide a patient-focused, high quality, efficient and complete administrative support service and customer care experience.
2. Working within a centralised booking team to include organising and booking inpatient admissions and outpatient appointments.
3. Responsibility for the delivery of an aspect of the service which will include the tasks required to deliver that service taking action where necessary, and escalate any potential issues to the Team Leader. This may also include day to day supervision of other team members.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* ECDL or equivalent IT experience
* English & Maths GCSE or equivalent
* NVQ Level 3 in Administration or Customer Care or equivalent experience
Experience
* Previous experience of working in a customer facing role
* Previous experience of supervising or supporting other team members
* Experience of inputting accurate and timely data onto electronic systems
* Ability to learn, understand and utilise appropriate software packages within the organisation
* Previous experience of carrying out general admin procedures in an office environment
* The ability to communicate basic or sensitive information to colleagues, patients and relatives
* The ability to pay close attention to detail in written and electronic communication and information storage
* The ability to work & provide supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administrative support
* The ability to work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team to ensure high quality administration support
* Able to organise, prioritise and adjust own workload in relation to the priorities of the department on a daily basis
