The role will be suitable for a motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to move into General Practice or for an experienced HCA who would like to develop their skills with us.

Main duties of the job
You will deliver and assist the nursing team in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion, and patient education while maintaining a professional attitude towards patients and always displaying an understanding and a caring attitude.
Duties include but are not limited to:
1. ECG recording
2. Blood pressure monitoring
3. Flu, Pneumococcal vaccinations, and B12 injections under a Patient Specific Direction
4. Urinalysis
5. Diabetic foot checks and yearly interim reviews
6. Chaperoning
7. Preparation and processing of laboratory samples i.e., MSU

Job responsibilities
1. Undertaking clinical tasks including venepuncture, wound care, administering injections, and carrying out ECGs
2. Performing and recording clinical observations such as blood pressure and pulse
3. Health promotion
4. Able to work well within a team and understand and complement the team dynamics
5. Ensuring the privacy, dignity, and safety of individuals are maintained at all times
6. Recognising issues relating to safeguarding vulnerable children and adults
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified to NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths
* NVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care
* Managing long-term conditions training
Experience
* Experience of working as a Healthcare Assistant
* Ability to work autonomously and as a team member
* Experience of working in a primary care environment
* Experience of using SystmOne clinical system
