CAMHS Crisis Practitioner Band 5-6 Development
Job overview
Do you want to make a difference in the way in which Children and Young People’s Emergency & Urgent Care is experienced in Rotherham, Doncaster & South Humber? Would you like to take up a rare opportunity to join a team who are committed to developing your knowledge and clinical practice in a supportive environment in order to progress on to become a competent Band 6 Crisis Practitioner?
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and motivated clinicians to RDASH's CYP Crisis Team. These dynamic team members will form part of our skilled, multidisciplinary team, and will play a key role in the implementation and delivery of the service. Successful applicants will be part of the established CYP Crisis Team and be supported by knowledgeable and skilled Band 6 Practitioners and Band 7 Clinical Leads. You will develop your skills and practice, with the support of the Crisis Team.
Main duties of the job
Clinical knowledge and relevant awareness of assessing and managing risk within a mental health or social care setting is desirable; however, continuing support and development opportunities will be provided. Professional registration with HCPC, Social Work England or the NMC is required.
Key components of the role include assisting with comprehensive mental health risk assessment, planning crisis interventions, providing follow-ups as required, and appropriately safeguarding young people. You will work under close supervision to collaboratively promote safety and support young people and their family/carers through face-to-face work. The post also involves liaison with other services and external agencies to ensure effective pathways of care.
This is a unique and extremely rewarding but challenging role. You will be working as part of a team, and you will need a high level of emotional resilience to support young people and families at times of distress. In the future, you may also be required to work alone at times and need to prioritize work to be flexible to meet the needs of the service. Due to the geographical area covered, it is essential that you have the ability to travel in order to attend assessments, which may be across the whole RDaSH footprint of Rotherham, Doncaster, and Scunthorpe. Team members will be required to work a variety of shift patterns to meet the requirements of the service.
