Injection Moulding Technical Team Leader
Experienced Engineering Team Leader required for global manufacturer based at the Plymouth Site. Reporting to the Moulding Manufacturing Unit Leader, the successful candidate will take ownership of aspects related to daily technical execution, problem solving, and team development in a high volume manufacturing environment. This role involves leading a technical team, providing comprehensive support and guidance to Engineering Technicians, Technicians, and Apprentices when resolving equipment breakdowns, completing planned maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Attend meetings providing engineering status of line and agree resource deployment and timings to close losses.
2. Resolve repeat loss issues using systematic problem-solving techniques to determine root cause.
3. Support Shift Technicians in investigation of losses (Breakdowns, Waste, Speed) to ensure countermeasures are effective.
4. Coach team members in all related duties to support maintenance activities.
5. Support CI projects/validations to help improve equipment reliability.
6. Provide details to improve Maintenance Standards and execution (Frequency, Breakdowns, and Repairs) to Reliability Leader based on problem solving outcomes and DTM/PPM activity.
7. Coaching on continuous improvement methodologies & tools.
8. Engage in planning process for Maintenance activities.
9. Maintain critical equipment settings, standards and close loop on changes made.
10. Ensure all preventative maintenance activities are performed effectively, including opportunistic maintenance working with Preventative Maintenance Leader to plan same.
11. Record maintenance details in full on the designated forms/SAP.
12. Report and action any abnormalities observed during Daily Task Maintenance / Planned Preventative Maintenance to reduce losses.
13. Record spares used during maintenance/unplanned breakdowns in line with Maintenance requirements.
14. Responsible for equipment breakdown response and escalation process in an expedient manner.
Essential Qualifications, Experience and Candidate Attributes Required:
1. HNC or Degree level education in Engineering/Mechatronics or a similar field of study.
2. A minimum of 5 years technical or manufacturing experience required, with several years of experience with complex moulding manufacturing.
3. Experience leading a technical team in a busy manufacturing setting.
4. Ability to work as part of a team and encourage effective team building activities.
5. Confident independent thinking, with the ability to act quickly in a high pressure situation.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving abilities.
7. Experience with safety and ergonomics in a manufacturing environment.
8. Strong understanding of Quality Systems.
