Administrator Job Type: Temporary, Part-time (2.5 days per week) Location: Normanton, Wakefield, WF6 1BB Duration: Initial 2 months Pay: £12.85 per hour Working Hours: 8:30am - 5pm Join the Business Support team at Wakefield Council and contribute to providing an effective and high-quality business support service to the Family & Youth Hubs. This role is ideal for someone with excellent customer care and communication skills, capable of working independently or as part of a team. Day-to-day of the role: Meet and greet visitors, promoting and publicising Family Hub events and activities using various social media platforms. Handle telephone calls from the public and internal colleagues, manage room bookings, and perform financial tasks. Take minutes at various multi-agency meetings and provide general administrative support to senior managers, practitioners, and other professionals. Develop a thorough knowledge of relevant online resources, apps, websites, and social media platforms to promote the Family & Youth Hub offer and wider support services. Provide advice and signposting guidance to parents and families, actively promoting facilities, activities, and events. Maintain a clean, tidy, and presentable reception area, ensuring noticeboards conform to agreed standards. Assist in the administration of financial tasks under the guidance of a line manager, including ordering goods and services, processing invoices, and handling petty cash. Support the administration of the 'team around' delivery model, input delivery data using Liquid Logic, and monitor/report on waiting lists. Take responsibility for the effective operation of electronic systems within the service and identify and implement new systems and processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: Excellent customer care and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using various social media platforms for promotion and publicising events. Experience in administrative tasks including minute taking, financial tasks, and room booking. Knowledge of GDPR, Equal Opportunities, and other relevant policies and practices. Familiarity with office equipment and electronic systems, capable of troubleshooting minor faults.
