We are now looking for an a Vet to cover MAT leave in the practice starting in December for 10 months, this will be on a part time basis ideally 3 days per week and Saturdays on a rota basis
I love my job. The team are enthusiastic and progressive, the clinic is clean and well organised, our clients are lovely and our case load is managed so we have time to spend with clients without them feeling rushed. Of course there are occasional days when the fan has been hit but we support each other to get through them and our JVP's are always on hand making sure we are all coping. We see a full range of cases and have visiting specialists to support those cases requiring further surgery/imaging that we are unable to perform ourselves. There are nearby referral hospitals meaning our clients can access most specialists within half an hour of the practice. CPD is actively encouraged and both the JVP's are totally supportive of everything we do. The team work well together and discuss cases, new ideas and clinical problems openly and constructively. I feel very privileged to be able to tell people "I love my job". Catriona MRCVS
Coming to join the team at Vets4Pets Northallerton has been a real game changer for me. The family feel of the practice and support provided by Kelly (the clinical partner) and Kirsty (practice manager and partner) has allowed my confidence to flourish. Within the first month I felt fully settled and able to grow in my clinical and interpersonal skills. The practice has a healthy flow of medical and surgical case work, as well as a few bizarre cases that provide some interesting challenges. We also have a really wonderful client base, which makes those tough days feel worthwhile. There is a culture of open discussion between the clinical team, and a drive to ensure we are always providing excellent patient and client care. Sophie, MRCVS
We understand that days in practice don't always go as planned so in addition to setting aside time for our vets to take breaks, complete admin and giving appropriate time to work up cases we are also open to re-arranging the daily diary if needed. This also means we rarely leave late. We are always looking for ways to best support our team and currently have a practice WhatsApp. There is clinical support from an external company if needed for imaging, and more specifically ultrasound. We also have close relationships with nearby referral centres who are always happy to lend advice on cases as well. In addition, our non-clinical team take responsibility for any insurance or finance related queries leaving the vets to concentrate on their clinical work. We have also just started offering management training should this be of interest to you.
While our day to day is a mix of surgeries and consult's we are happy to discuss any bias you may have towards either of these. We can offer both full or part time hours and want to make sure your rota works around your commitments whether you need to work certain days, shorter or longer shifts, or a specific pattern, we can accommodate this. The role will include some sole charge and we would like our new vet to be part of our weekend rota which will be discussed at interview and includes Saturdays only. You will get time back in the week after working a weekend. Most important to us is our new team member is friendly, approachable, compassionate, and able to build strong bonds with our clients and pets.
We are based on a busy main route of Northallerton with free onsite parking and just a 20-minute walk from the train station where you can catch a direct train to major cities including London. Our practice is purpose-built with separate dog and cat wards. We are lucky to have a genuinely lovely client base and work closely with our local RSPCA and Cats Protection League both providing veterinary care and fundraising. We are hugely supportive of one another and take pride in the strong relationships we have built with each other and our clients. Led by our partners Kirsty and Kelly, you will be joining a really lovely team of 2 vets who have over 25 years' experience between them, 1 Head Nurse, 1 RVN, 1 Practice Manager (MHFA), 2 Animal Care Assistant and 2 Client Care Advisors. We are an honest and enthusiastic team and are looking for someone who shares the same values as us., Pets just see people. They aren't biased and they don't discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves so even if your skills and experience don't perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
