This role requires an in-depth understanding of financial regulations, payroll procedures, VAT requirements, and currency variations (GBP & Euro). The successful candidate will have hands-on experience with Xero, along with a strong grasp of sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers. You should be meticulous, analytical, and capable of handling multiple financial processes efficiently. Key Responsibilities Oversee financial records for both UK and Ireland operations. Process payroll in compliance with UK (HMRC) and Irish (Revenue) tax laws. Reconcile company bank accounts, credit cards, and supplier statements. Manage the processing of invoices, payments, and credit notes with accuracy. Cross-check invoices against purchase orders and liaise with suppliers regarding discrepancies. Handle VAT returns, including processing Reverse VAT and VAT Exempt transactions. Maintain accurate records in Xero, ensuring financial compliance. Monitor and record office and employee expenses. Support asset management, including company fleet administration (taxes, insurance, fuel expenses). Manage office supplies and ensure necessary stock levels. Assist the finance team with general administrative tasks as needed. Ensure adherence to financial control processes, coding accuracy, and period-end reporting. Who Were Looking For ? Essential Criteria: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade C or above). At least two years of experience in bookkeeping or a financial administration role. Strong understanding of financial management across the UK and Ireland. Experience handling GBP and Euro transactions. Proficiency in Xero accounting software. Sales Ledger (S/L): Invoice processing, payment reconciliation, VAT processing. Purchase Ledger (P/L): Supplier statement reconciliation, credit note allocation, invoice handling. Nominal Ledger (N/L): Bank reconciliations, VAT returns, payroll journal entries, compliance with tax regulations. Ability to work with nominal codes and control accounts. ?? Desirable Skills: Familiarity with QuickBooks and/or Sage. Experience in credit control and statement reconciliation. Handling supplier queries and processing purchase invoices accurately. Journal adjustments, payroll processing, and expense handling. Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance. Knowledge of renewable energy or similar industries (preferred but not required).
