Come on board About the role Lead & Optimise: Drive the People Operations team to deliver top-tier, Motorway-tailored generalist people services, including onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, policy development, and benefits administration (all with a bit of pace). Empower Managers: Develop and implement strategies to upskill managers in essential people management skills, focusing on improving employee experience and ensuring compliance. System Mastery: Manage and optimise our HRIS (e.g., BambooHR), ensuring data accuracy, security, and process automation. Policy & Process Innovation: Develop and implement people policies and procedures that align with our company values, legal requirements, and best practices. Employee Relations Excellence: Serve as a key escalation point for employee relations, providing expert guidance and support to managers. Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the People Operations team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture. Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Strategic People Partner team and Head of People to align operational HR with strategic initiatives. Change & Transformation: Spot where operational or behavioural changes are needed and make sure those changes land successfully. About you Proven experience leading a People Operations function. Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices. Strong experience optimising HRIS systems. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective people policies and processes. Experience serving a varied, UK multi-location employee population (London & Brighton). Experience in upskilling managers in people management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience in employee relations case management.
