Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for an Upstream Scientistto join our MSAT team at our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for theexecution of client projects and internal development programs, working alongside the other Upstream scientists within the department.
This role is Full Time and fully onsite in Keele, Staffordshire.
Profile and Requirements
Key duties and responsibilities include but arent limited to:
:Performing Microbial upstream processing including fermentation of up to 30L scale.
:To execute and complete Small scale (shake flasks and Ambr(R) system) pre:production evaluations.
:To assist withKit purification of plasmid DNA up to giga prep scale.
:To execute the generation of Microbial cell banks.
:To provideIn:process analytics (productivity/purity).
:To ensure documentation isgenerated forprotocols, study plans and study reports in a timely manner, and to a high standardas per Charles River policies, as assigned.
:To support withthe development/continuous improvement of techniques / processes within the MSAT team and other areas of the business.
Qualifications and Key requirements:
:A degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or equivalent scientific qualification.
:Previous practical laboratory experience in Upstream Processingis essential.
:Previous experience with basic laboratory techniques, including aseptic processing is essential.
:The ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of cGMP manufacturing
:Able to demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
:The ability to work as part of a team and independently as required
:Be able to work under the pressure of client and business milestones and needs.
