Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products supplying leading retail businesses including Marks & Spencer, Ocado, Waitrose, Dunnes and Morrisons. Working as part of the Finance team, this key role is to ensure the prompt and accurate processing of weekly payroll across Avondale Foods Ltd. The Payroll & Accounts Administrator will coordinate the preparation, calculation and processing of computerised weekly wages and process and distribute weekly management reports. Key Responsibilities Ensure that payroll for c. 500 employees are processed accurately on a weekly basis. Monitor time and attendance records Maintain and administer deduction records to include periodical returns and payments Maintain and regularly update payroll records and filing systems Calculate SSP, SMP, and SPP when required and administer company sick pay. Maintain accurate pension records. Communicate with HR department to ensure payroll is processed accurately and employee information is kept up to date. Produce the required weekly payroll Sage reports. Reconcile payroll, ensuring that all new starts are added, leavers removed, correct rates have been applied. Adhere to the relevant HMRC rules and regulations for payroll reporting, keeping up to date with current legislation and company compliance. Address payroll queries via email, phone and in person Process ad hoc reports as required Prepare the weekly payroll journal for upload Support the accounts receivable and accounts payable function Carry out any administration duties required to ensure smooth running of the office Essential Criteria Minimum 3 years experience processing payroll and using a time and attendance system Minimum 3 years experience working within a finance function 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C or above Competent in the use of Microsoft Office including Excel Working knowledge of SAGE payroll and UK PAYE rules and statutory regulations Excellent level of English, both written and verbal Desirable Criteria IATI Qualified Minimum 3 years experience working in manufacturing Working knowledge of NTD / Workflow Infinity time and attendance system Ability to work independently and in a team Skills: Payroll Pensions PAYE Reports HMRC Benefits: Pension Subsidised canteen Wellbeing Initiatives
