Do you want to help people gain more control over their lives?
Do you enjoy working with a range of professionals and resources in developing people’s skills and confidence?
If so, then becoming a Reablement Support Worker may be the post for you….
Please note that this post does not qualify or meet the criteria as per Home Office Regulations to be eligible for a certificate of sponsorship visa category.
The Rotherham Reablement Service works with people in the community to help them learn new skills or increase confidence in their daily activities. The people we see may have experienced a spell of ill health or a change in their circumstances and need some short-term support to allow them to return to previous levels of independence. The service differs from ‘traditional’ home care support in that the emphasis is on helping people to ‘do’ for themselves rather than having things done for them.
Reablement Support Workers see people in their own homes and provide this direct support to them. This may include help with daily activities such as washing, dressing, or getting a meal, but could also involve support to identify and join local community groups. The aim of the service is to promote the person’s overall wellbeing, providing every opportunity for people to lead happy, healthy, and independent lives.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission with an overall ‘good’ rating but are working towards achieving an ‘outstanding’ rating. The enthusiasm and commitment of our staff – hopefully including you! - should help us to achieve this in the future.
We are looking to recruit Reablement Support Workers, working 25 or 35 hours per week. You will be provided with a uniform and will potentially be working across the whole of the Rotherham borough. Travel is an essential part of this job, and although being a car user is not essential, the expectation would be that postholders can travel across the Rotherham Borough, with possible use of a fleet vehicle, within a reasonable timescale. The service operates from 6.45 am until 10 pm every day of the year, so this role includes working shifts with a consistent rota.
The successful applicants will be joining a supportive and motivated team who value learning and work in close partnership with other professionals in the area. A full induction and training are provided, as well as regular supervision and team meetings.
If you would like to discuss this opportunity before applying, please don’t hesitate to contact Karen Duke, Deputy Manager on 01709 255754 / 07748142992 or by emailing Karen.Duke@rotherham.gov.uk OR Registered Manager, Sandra Hatfield on 07786 335914 or by emailing Sandra.hatfield@rotherham.gov.uk.
We look forward to hearing from you.
