We have vacancies for experienced theatre practitioners with anaesthetics qualification to join our team to start in our department initially working in anaesthetics.

There are currently full time and part time opportunities in anaesthetics and a full education and orientation package is provided bespoke to your experience and needs. Some of the skills covered in education includes advanced airway skills, invasive line management, management of emergency scenarios such as anaphylaxis, major haemorrhage, and local anaesthetic toxicity plus fluid and pain management.
This position is not suitable for nurses requiring OSCE to register with the NMC UK.
Main duties of the job
Coastguard and Horizon Children’s Theatres Department has 9 theatres over 2 specifically paediatric theatre departments. The specialities we cover are neurosurgery, scoliosis, cardiac, cardiac catheter, interventional radiology, oncology, general, urology, ear, nose and throat, orthopaedics, renal, plastics, burns, dental, maxillofacial, laparoscopic and endoscopy.

Knowledge and Experience
* Broad knowledge and experience of clinical nursing practice within a hospital environment
* Interest in the clinical area
* Experience of teaching
* Experience of taking charge
Skills and Abilities
* Demonstrate competence in clinical skills relevant to the clinical area
* Good interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate effectively with patients, carers and MDT
* Competence in calculations for safe administration of medicines/fluids
* Ability to take the lead, initiate and ensure appropriate action in response to the deteriorating patient
* Clinical decision-making ability
* Teaching/supervisory skills
* Ability to work with minimum supervision

* Recognition of own limits
Public Sector Language Competency
* Be able to speak fluent English to an appropriate standard
Qualifications and Training
* RSCN/ RN child branch (NMC registered) or equivalent
* Current NMC/ HCPC registration
* Work towards relevant university accredited post basic study programmes e.g. teaching and assessing course
