Senior Decontamination Supervisor – Quality *Internal Applicants*

The Senior Decontamination Supervisor - Quality will be responsible for all aspects of quality management directly supporting the department's Quality Manager. This includes managing production inputs/outputs (including prioritising/reorganising work as appropriate), responding to ad hoc questions and concerns from decontamination scientists, and ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
The role involves daily management of and compliance with the Quality System, ensuring department staff carry out tasks in compliance with ISO13485:2016. The post holder will participate in the provision of specialised decontamination of medical devices services contributing to patient clinical care.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Performing a full range of decontamination duties and being accountable for the work area within the department.
2. Maintaining and calibrating specialist surgical equipment for use on patients.
3. Managing decontamination records in own work area.
4. Interpreting and reviewing technical data and production reports.
5. Providing a high-quality and timely service to all customers.
6. Supervising, organising, and allocating work, and training less experienced/qualified staff.
7. Assisting with the development of the Department's Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Quality Management Systems and ensuring staff compliance.
8. Planning own workload and working with minimal managerial direction.
The role routinely involves exposure to blood and body fluids.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Experience to NVQ3 through decontamination training and non-routine experience applied training to Foundation degree/diploma in medical device decontamination or equivalent experience.
* Chartered member of the Institute of Decontamination Sciences.
Knowledge & Experience
* Knowledge of decontamination specific procedures and policies.
* Understanding of Quality Management processes.
* Understanding of Health and Safety processes.
* Practical experience in decontamination.
* Knowledge and experience of supervision and training less experienced/qualified staff.
* Evidence of CPD.

* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to communicate with colleagues and service users on both routine and complex matters.
Planning & Organisational Skills
* Ability to participate in the planning of day-to-day procedures and processes.
