To carry out the duties of a Slater/Roofer and to contribute to the provision of an efficient and effective maintenance service.
Responsibilities
To undertake craft duties as directed by the Repairs/Voids/Contracts Supervisor.
To participate in alternative shift pattern rotas.
To undertake training as required.
To comply with all Health and Safety and security procedures and guidelines.
To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably expected from time to time.
Time Served Slater/Roof Tiler or able to demonstrate required competencies/ experience.
Minimum of SVQ Level 3 in Slating or Roof Tiling (or demonstrate equal).
Capable of working on own or as a team member.
Full driving licence.
Good all round knowledge of slating/ roof tiling, general roof repairs and general construction works.
Good communication skills.
Ability to be diplomatic with clients/staff.
Be polite and of tidy appearance.
Ability to show high level of customer care.
Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the practice of good team working.
Able to undertake all the duties of the post and good physical fitness appropriate to undertaking tasks.
Ability to work on site within a construction environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of our Building Services team at the DLO, that directly employ over 150 multi trade and specialist support staff. Services provided include building maintenance and improvement services to the Council's 6,300 houses, as well as reactive and planned maintenance to other Council building that includes schools, offices and libraries.
