UKI Tax - Senior Manager - International Tax and Transaction Services - Mergers and Acquisitions
We've got an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) tax team, working within our International Tax and Transaction Services (ITTS), who are recognised as being leaders in cross border M&A. You will be working with some of the largest corporations in the world, advising them on their M&A deals. We are looking for someone to be based in Manchester.
You will be working with sector-leading Partners who are well known and respected in the market, alongside a high performing team that has advised on many high-profile transactions over the past few years.

The opportunity
In this team, you will gain wide-ranging experience in all core areas of the deal cycle, including tax structuring, sell and buy side tax due diligence, funds flows, SPA reviews, and refinancings. As deal advisers, International Transaction Tax team members will gain UK tax technical experience and commercial understanding of what is important to our clients in a deal context.
We are currently looking to expand our Corporate M&A Tax team and are keen to speak with experienced Tax Managers and Senior Managers.
Your key responsibilities
* Build and maintain relationships with clients, winning work proactively and contributing to winning new clients.
* Manage the successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transaction tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business-focused approach.
* Overall responsibility for the quality of client service.
* Manage possible leads from other areas of the practice.
* Build networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from.
* Help people to develop through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring staff.
* Contribute to people initiatives, including retaining and training transaction tax professionals.
* Significant involvement in the management of the team in terms of strategy and operations and through managing junior staff development and assignments.
Skills and attributes for success
* Strong client relationship management skills with the ability to develop quality outputs to clients.
* Negotiation skills.
* Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell work to new and existing clients.
* Effective time management, ability to remain calm when under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff.
* Ensure delivery of quality work and take day-to-day management of the delivery team.
* Change-oriented with a flexible approach.
* Strong knowledge and experience within transaction/M&A tax.
To qualify for the role you must have
* ACA/ATT/CTA or international equivalent / Law qualification.
* Degree qualified.
* Experience in transaction tax.
* Strong transaction tax technical skills.
