The Role:
The school is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3, KS4, and KS5. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop their understanding of physical and human geography, as well as key global issues.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Teach a range of topics, including physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues
* Support and challenge students to reach their full potential, adapting teaching strategies as needed
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and targeted support
* Contribute to the development of the Geography curriculum and department initiatives
* Participate in extracurricular activities, such as geography clubs, field trips, or competitions
Essential Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting
* Experience teaching across KS3, KS4, and KS5
* Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography
* An up-to-date DBS check on the update service or willingness to obtain one
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills
* A commitment to inspiring students and fostering a love for Geography
Desirable Skills & Experience:
* Experience with GCSE and A-Level Geography delivery
* Knowledge of different teaching strategies to engage a diverse range of learners
* Familiarity with exam board specifications and assessment criteria
* Ability to contribute to whole-school sustainability and global awareness initiatives
