Title: Young Learners Course Coordinator
Department: Education
Main purposes of job: Responsible for the delivery of Anglo-Continental’s YL curricula, academic resources and continuing the school’s ethos. Work with the Academic Head to develop and improve the company’s courses. Teach on the school's general English programmes when Young Learner courses are not running. Teach on Young Learner Programmes with low student numbers.
The key areas are as follows:
1. Managing the day-to-day running of the Young Learners education department
Academic Administration
1. Appropriate and cost-effective use of resources, in consultation with the Academic head, when allocating teachers to classes and timetabling courses
2. Ensuring that class averages are at desired levels
3. Carrying out intake procedures, student placement, and testing
4. Assist with the preparation for oversight reviews such as British Council and ISI
5. Hold staff meetings
6. Assist with the development of self-access materials including reference materials, library books, and video
7. Assist with the selection of teaching materials and resources development
8. Review and authorise timesheets and any relevant information for the Accounts Department as required
9. Ensure teachers are up to date with administrative duties and produce weekly schemes of work
Recruitment of Staff and Personnel Liaison
1. Assist with the recruitment of teachers including the issuing of contracts in accordance with current and future enrolments
2. Assist with regular teacher observations, feedback, and appraise staff
3. Agree holidays with staff so that the interests of the department and the school are met
4. Maintaining appropriate standards of conduct at work through the effective use of the company’s procedures
5. Verifying teacher CV’s, Enhanced DBS checks, qualifications and taking up references
6. Ensuring all personnel documents for staff are valid, accurate, and remain up to date
7. Deliver an effective and appropriate induction programme, teacher training sessions and monitor staff performance and development
8. Arrange / provide appropriate cover when staff are absent
Student Welfare and Academic Support
1. Liaise with other departments and staff regarding students’ pastoral care
2. Provide solutions to students / group leaders / agents problems
3. Uphold the school’s disciplinary policies
4. Speak with students when needed regarding welfare or behavioural issues
5. Liaise with the Activities Coordinator on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the YL department.
Other
1. Liaise with students / group leaders and agents.
2. Teach according to the number of enrolments in the school and projects being undertaken.
3. Cover other tasks as deemed necessary by the Senior Management Team or the Board
4. Appointment to the Emergency Telephone rota.

Pay: £15.66-£18.01 per hour
