Job Title: Product Network Architect
Role Summary :
We are looking for a Contractor with experience in Software Defined Network (SDN) area with a focus on ‘ VMware/VeloCloud. The contractor will work closely with Group Product Management to take the VMware/VeloCloud product and future feature enhancements to market. You will provide technical consultancy to identify and qualify new concepts before translating requirements into design and delivery. The role is highly interactive, and requires the ability to work with several internal departments and external partners as well as Group and Local Markets teams.
The role has accountability for the end to end design of the VMware/VeloCloud product through to delivery, ensuring the process is carried out in the most efficient way, achieving the best fit into the Vodafone networks and IT systems, and taking into account low level platform and infrastructure design as well as end-to-end lifecycle management of products.
The Candidates’ responsibilities include:
1. Being accountable for the VMware/VeloCloud Product architecture and high level design of the product, ensuring that the Product Requirements (as defined within the Market Specification) are met by owning the overall design.
2. Ensuring that the end to end design complies with Vodafone design principles ( Security & Privacy by Design) and strikes an agreed balance between compliance to requirement and delivery time/cost and quality.
3. Translate functional and non-functional requirements into solutions that span the end-to-end implementation; this includes determination of costs for development the end to end solution.
4. Determine product/service technical building blocks and how they interact., the scope of what’s to be delivered. Deliver the relevant documentation.
5. Being responsible for the technical aspects of the vendor management, setting the technical priorities and driving the product improvement
6. Being accountable for the end to end In-Life Operating Model
7. Work closely with the Service Designers’ team, to ensure a clear and successful interlock between high level design and service design
8. Engaging key product stakeholders to understand product performance in life and identifying opportunities for improvement.
The VMware/VeloCloud Product Architect is responsible for leading the design, development, successful delivery of quality solutions to meet the business demands outlined in the Product Roadmap.
Excellent communication skills are essential in this role, as well as experience in talking to different areas of business, Product Management, Category Management and Vendors.
A Connectivity and Networking background is essential, as well as IT expertise.

9. Expert level in IP technology and connectivity practices
10. General experience with connectivity provider practices
11. Good technical background and a flexible nature which will adapt to additional products entering the business portfolio later along the line.
12. Excellent negotiation and communication skills to drive transformation in this area.
13. Be able to work on own initiative and manage work load. Customer driven mindset, critical judgement and problem solver focused
14. Valued: Good level of insight Vodafone International portfolio, Local Markets networks, public and public cloud provider networks such as Amazon AWS/Google/Microsoft Azure
15. Cisco CCNA,CCNP
16. Routing and Switching expert knowledge
17. Firewall, NAT, Proxy, LB expertise
18. Either in depth WAN or local DC experience ideally in a service design role.
19. Ethernet and Optical knowledge
20. IP/MPLS, SD-WAN, SDN/NFV and Mobile Data Access an advantage
