Salary: Grade 4 Spinal Point 17 - £30,542.55 - Grade 5 Spinal Point 24 - £39,512.60 (Dependant on experience) FTE
FTE/Hours & Weeks: 0.6 FTE
Contract Type: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover) until post holder returns
About the Role
HSDC is looking for an enthusiastic Lecturer/Teacher of A-Level Music to deliver exceptional teaching, learning, and assessment, fostering student success and progression. This role is perfect for someone with a deep passion for Music and a strong commitment to supporting students in achieving their full potential. The ideal candidate will be self-driven, creative, and able to inspire and motivate students. The course includes classical music and composition, with opportunities to lead enrichment activities such as a jazz band and choir. A strong expertise in A-Level Music is essential for this position.
Responsibilities
* Planning effectively and delivering high quality teaching, learning, assessment and support, leading to excellent attendance, retention and achievement.
* Delivering formal scheduled teaching duties, tutorials (as appropriate) and student assessment.
* Recording, sharing and regularly monitoring student progress using College information systems.
* Preparing learning plans, schemes of work, keeping relevant records and undertaking all administration relevant to teaching duties.
* Attending parents’ evenings, marketing and promotional events.
Requirements
* Level 5 or equivalent Teaching Qualification such as Certificate in Education or PGCE or willingness to work towards this.
* High level of specialist knowledge of the subject area.
* At least 2 years’ experience in teaching the subject area to full-time or part-time students (Desirable).
* Degree in relevant subject (Desirable).
