We are an innovative and market leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.
As a Senior Cloud Support Engineer, you will join a dynamic team and provide in-depth knowledge and expertise across a range of technical areas supporting a hybrid-cloud environment. You will provide guidance and support via ticketing systems and be an escalation point for technical issues relating to the Cloud Infrastructure and the services running on it. You will drive the delivery of technical projects as well as supporting larger cross-team deliveries as a key technical stakeholder. You will participate in technical R & D to deliver innovations that improve efficiency and effectiveness of our infrastructure solutions, enabling us to better meet the evolving needs of our clients and enhance overall system performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leading technical delivery of complex Infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment to business objectives and deadlines are met.
* Provide expert guidance on technical issues as an internal escalation point for the team and a key contact for other departments needing technical input. Support Major incident resolution and post-incident analysis.
* Provide efficient and friendly 3rd line support to a range of internal and external customers within the hybrid-cloud environment.
* Ensure tickets are progressed to resolution in accordance with SLA and wider priorities.
* Maintain and monitor infrastructure platforms ensuring performance, capacity and uptimes meet defined SLAs and the organisation’s requirements.
* Work with various vendors and service providers to procure appropriate hardware, software and technical services and leverage support where needed.
* Create and maintain documentation of builds and processes and contribute to internal team knowledge base
* Maintain a good working knowledge of current infrastructure and future trends, helping drive innovation within the infrastructure and business.
* Identify and raise changes in accordance with the company’s change management and control procedures.
* Ensure compliance with professional standards including ISO27001 and regulatory requirements within the Energy Industry.
ABOUT YOU
* Experience using VMware and Hyper-V.
* Experience in 1st/2nd Line and with some 3rd line exposure.
* Experience with incident ticketing systems, ticket management, escalation and resolution within defined SLAs.
* Experience delivering technical projects.
* Experience with enterprise infrastructure including clustered VMware servers, storage arrays and disaster recovery solutions.
* Experience configuring and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server environments including Active Directory, GPO, Exchange/O365, IIS, SCCM, VMM.
* Ability to identify incident trends to escalate incidents in accordance with standard protocols.
* Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
* Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
