At the leading edge of Systems Engineering capability, the National Technical Lead for Systems Engineering in the UK will join National Technical Leads in Italy, France and Germany. Together with the Head of Systems Engineering, they support and harness systems engineering culture and practices to establish cohesive national and international capability that benefits all MBDA.
Salary: Circa £64,000 depending on experience
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site with occasional UK and European travel
Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.
Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:
This key role will help pioneer end-to-end systems engineering in the digital domain: Model Based Engineering (encompassing Model Based Systems Engineering).
The National Technical Lead is part of the international Capability & Governance Directorate, which manages international functional improvement activities for the Engineering Directorate.
Activities include:
* Working with national capability teams & domain experts to bring appropriate cohesion to the national culture and practices
* Working with National Technical Leads for Systems Engineering to establish international Systems Engineering capability
* Leadership of capability improvement projects
* Contributing to national Systems Engineering Communities of Practice or Focus Groups
* Mentoring other Systems Engineering practitioners
* Assessment of national model based practice against the Model Based Engineering maturity model
* Consistently striving to deliver improvement activities - which involves reacting to new technologies, proposing changes to work more efficiently and helping to influence others
* Working with all projects and functions means that the work is very diverse and rewarding
What we're looking for from you:
* Systems engineering expertise & experience, including applying model based techniques
* Experience and confidence working with multiple, diverse stakeholders
* Well-developed interpersonal, influencing and communication skills
* Comfortable with ambiguity, self-starting and self-motivated
* Able to plan and deliver work in a changing environment
* Experience of managing or working on improvement programmes
