Do you enjoy the thrill of managing multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex technical problems whilst keeping within budget and programme? If so, then the WSP Bridges team in the South East is actively seeking enthusiastic Project Managers to lead delivery of some of our diverse portfolio of Civil bridge projects.
As Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
1. Leadership of teams delivering design & professional services projects for UK transport infrastructure projects.
2. Preparing key documentation including the co-ordination procedure, quality plan and safety plan.
3. Engagement and day to day liaison with Client project leadership team.
4. Developing a clear project pricing submission and project schedule and client instruction to proceed reflecting this.
5. Embedding the project delivery strategy to drive successful delivery and commercial performance, ensuring Key Performance Indicators are achieved.
6. Co-ordinating with the client’s technical disciplines to manage the timely receipt of information.
7. Administering the Contract including change management.
8. Engaging with project teams and the wider WSP business to manage resource demands.
9. Preparing monthly reports to support Client and internal reporting requirements.
10. Driving compliance with WSP's procedures.
11. Creating a supportive and positive project environment where people can develop and grow.
12. Supporting compliance with WSP's procedures and standards.
13. Contributing to creating a supportive and positive project environment conducive to personal and professional development.
YOUR TEAM
Our Civil Engineering team in the Southeast is made up of more than 100 engineers, technicians, and project management professionals in 4 locations across the Southeast of England, with a breadth of backgrounds and experience. We work across a huge variety of projects in the rail and highways sectors for a wide client base that includes HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, Local Authorities, D&B Contractors and private sector clients.
WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE:
1. Membership (or working towards membership) of the Association for Project Management and/or APM PMQ/Prince2 Practitioner qualified or equivalent.
2. 3-8 years of project management experience.
3. Demonstrable experience of successful team management, planning, and contract administration (preferable NEC3 and NEC4).
4. Demonstrable experience of successful project budget management and ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status).
5. Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to engaging with others.
6. A self-motivated approach to working and are comfortable acting on your own initiative with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
7. Experience of managing ambiguity in a project environment with strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
8. The ability to work well under pressure.
9. A high standard of organisation and time management.
