Security Design Engineer – Asset Intelligence Warrington What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a Security Design Engineer to join the team at Galliford Try within our Asset Intelligence Business. Ideally, you will based in or around the Warrington area. To lead site visits with the assistance of the Head of Design (or member of the design team) and act as the point of contact for any sub-contract designers. To develop electronic security scoping technical specifications following site visits/3D scans. To liaise closely with the sub-contractor design teams to refine the scope of works. To check the sub-contractor’s price and specifications for completeness, quality, accuracy, and cost effectiveness. To complete Tender TQs and to own the Tender TQ register during this period. To assist the project / tendering teams in producing technical documentation for tender enquiries or orders. To ensure that the security processes and procedures are followed within the office and on site. To assist with documentation for security accreditation for the GT AI Business. Ascertaining Clients’ requirements through reference to their specification documents and visiting sites with their nominated personnel. A key requirement is the ability to determine the actual security requirement and propose appropriate solutions. Working alongside the Head of Design and AI delivery staff to ensure designs are value engineered and adhere to client specifications whilst retaining appropriate levels of operational security and full compliance with all relevant Health, Safety and Environmental legislation. Promoting innovation and challenge parties involved to ensure cost effectiveness in all design activities. To provide technical input into Electronic Security installer / supplier subcontract orders. To provide technical input in Physical Security installer / supplier subcontract orders The production of design documentation such as Equipment Layouts, Functional Design Specification, Equipment Schedule, Camera Field of Views, Network Architecture, Cable Schedules. To review and comment on physical design information, such as doors, hatches, bar sets and bottle clamps. To feed information into Design Management Plan, Design Programme, and other design quality deliverables. To review, check and approve Design Deliverables are technically correct and produced in line with the design programme. To feed information to the Commercial Team on possible CE’s and EWs relating to design changes or additional works. To ensure that there is no scope creep, and to manage design changes through the Change Control Process. To assist with the effective handover to the Construction Manager and Commissioning Manager. About You: Experience and knowledge of integrated security systems including, Access Control, Intruder Alarm, Analogue CCTV, IP CCTV, Audio Challenge, and Intercom systems. Experience of system integration into both local and remote ARC (Alarm Receiving Centre) and RVRC (Remote Video Response Centre) central security management systems. Experience and knowledge of physical security products including integration with electronic security devices. Water company experience particularly Thames Water essential. Experience with AMTECH cable calculation software. Up to date knowledge of security equipment and devices innovations. BIM / PAS 1192 Experience of producing URS and FDS documents (where applicable) to client briefs and specifications. Knowledge of CDM regulations and temporary works requirements. Possess an industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent. Possess a working knowledge of Microsoft packages (experience with AutoCAD software would be an advantage).
