Fire Suppression Sales Engineer Location: Devon Salary: £55,000 Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute sales strategies to expand our presence in the fire suppression market, with a focus on gas suppression (e.g., FM-200, CO2) and water mist systems. Identify new business opportunities and cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients, including architects, engineers, contractors, and facility managers. Actively promote our fire suppression solutions through direct sales, networking, and participation in industry events and trade shows. Generate and follow up on sales leads to achieve or exceed sales targets. Design and engineer fire suppression systems based on client requirements, industry standards, and relevant regulations. Provide technical guidance on gas suppression and water mist systems, including recommendations for system type, components, layout, and installation. Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure that system designs are viable, cost-effective, and compliant with applicable standards. Conduct site assessments and surveys to determine the optimal fire suppression solution for each project. Prepare and present detailed proposals, quotations, and project plans to clients, explaining system designs, costs, and benefits. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing queries, providing technical support, and managing the post-sales process. Collaborate with installation and service teams to ensure smooth implementation and ongoing maintenance of systems. Provide technical training to clients, contractors, and partners on fire suppression system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to fire suppression solutions. Analyse market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to continuously refine sales strategies and improve product offerings. Provide regular sales reports, forecasting, and pipeline updates to management. Qualifications and Requirements: Proven experience in sales and technical design of fire suppression systems, particularly gas suppression and water mist systems. Strong understanding of fire protection engineering, system design principles, and industry standards. Demonstrated ability to design custom fire suppression systems based on specific customer needs, facility requirements, and regulatory compliance. Excellent technical and engineering knowledge of gas suppression and water mist technologies. Outstanding sales and negotiation skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, understandable language for non-technical clients. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using design and estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Fire Suppression Design Software). Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
