We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Level 6 Rail Systems Degree Apprentice to join our dynamic Eastern & Southern team.
Job Title: Rail Systems Degree Apprentice - Level 6
Duration: 42 months
Starting Salary: £25,097 (subject to 2025 review)
Working Hours: Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm (Nights & Weekends)
Location: York, Derby & Bedford - depending on the candidate's location.

What You'll Do:
This role includes a mixture of university learning and on-the-job learning both within the office and on-site. The main purpose is to support the OLE Engineers in all technical matters associated with planning and engineering preparation works ahead of the allocated OLE works.
Principal Duties
1. Work as directed by the CRE and the Senior OLE Engineers / OLE Engineers you are assigned to.
2. Support in detailed site surveys, checks against installation vs design.
3. Assist in preparing materials ahead of site works.
4. Support the raising of TQ & FCN & NCR as required.
5. Discuss all construction and constructability issues with the construction team.
6. Follow all safety-critical processes (OLE handbook / Form E / Rule book / SSoW etc).
7. Refer any design issues to the CRE / OLE engineer.
8. Attend planning, progress, and technical meetings as directed.
9. Participate in audits as directed.
10. Ensure that construction work is delivered to the required quality and on-site quality checks are carried out.
Safety Specific Responsibilities
1. Always behave and work in a safe manner.
2. Only carry out tasks that you are competent and trained to undertake.
3. Report always fit for duty.
4. Ensure that mandated PPE for the task being undertaken is always worn.
5. Participate in regular monthly safety meetings.
6. Report all accidents, incidents & raise any close calls.

What You'll Bring:
Qualifications
1. 3 x A-Levels at Grades A*- C including Mathematics and Physical Science or their equivalent, or have completed a Level 3 Apprenticeship as an Engineering Technician.
Skills
1. Full driving license or aiming to obtain it.
2. Must be computer literate.
3. Good communication skills.
4. Basic knowledge of Health & Safety (not essential).
