Madisons Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Site Manager on a permanent basis on behalf of an award-winning specialist main contractor, who has a new large commercial project in Watford, Hertfordshire.
Our client is a leading contractor, specializing in the design and construction of contemporary facilities. With a track record of hundreds of successful projects across Europe and the UK, they are a recognized D&B contractor in the car parking market across the UK.
Please note: due to this role covering projects nationwide, you must be willing to travel to be suitable for this position.
Project Manager Responsibilities:
1. Checking drawings and designs, highlighting inconsistencies to your line manager.
2. Checking and registering materials and plant deliveries for compliance, quality, and quantity.
3. Checking and recording attendance and timekeeping of subcontractors and operatives.
4. Producing RAMS, Inspection Test Plans, and managing/implementing and completing these, ensuring the client is kept fully updated.
5. Liaising with clients and reporting progress, quality, environmental, and health and safety matters; also dealing with professional staff (such as the main contractor, architects, engineers, and surveyors) and occasionally with the public.
6. Attending internal and site meetings maintaining a professional manner.
7. Ability to read, work to, and convey information from drawings.
8. Understanding and working to programmes, and producing short-term site-based programmes.
9. Calling off materials, ordering sundry items, and maintaining running totals records.
10. Supervising subcontract trades and general labour to ensure high quality, health and safety standards, and compliance with their requirements.
11. Setting up and participating in subcontractor meetings, including pre-start and progress meetings.
12. Carrying out formal safety inspections to ensure construction and site safety standards.
13. Preparing site reports, inspections, and test plans, keeping them up to date.
14. Maintaining quality control procedures.
15. Utilizing and maintaining all company systems, procedures, forms, templates, and policies.
16. Motivating yourself and your workforce.
17. Problem solving.
18. Assisting with internal and external audits.
19. Advising your line manager and commercial team of any changes, delays, or requests for additional works or variances.
20. Completing site health and safety, quality, and environmental inspections, along with all related paperwork.
21. Reading, understanding, conveying, and building to only approved drawings and specifications.
Further Project Manager Information:
* SMSTS required.
* CSCS Managers card required.
* Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
* First aid training required.
* Full UK Driving license + own transport.
* Car allowance provided in package (paid monthly).
