Supply Chain Manager
£82k plus car allowance and competitive package

Supply Chain role in a successful, growing business managing a team of experienced planning and logistics specialists. In a fast-paced environment, this role requires supply chain experience in deadline-driven environments with the leadership and strategic ability to grow as the business expands.
Managing the end-to-end supply chain involves complexities from raw material scheduling, production planning, in and outbound despatch ensuring optimum customer service levels. The role will constantly review and develop capacity planning to ensure the plant is fully optimised. Developing a large Supply team is also central to this role, so strong people skills are critical.
As well as a competitive remuneration package, this supply chain role allows for a seat on the SMT, exposure to the Exec and realistic future progression.
The Role
1. Leadership and management of the Supply Chain Function including planning, scheduling and logistics.
2. Strategic direction of that team aligned with the overall business strategy.
3. An ability to be in tune with the detail to constantly drive efficiencies and improvements.
4. Ensuring a robust and effective capacity model is always maintained, working closely with the Site Director.
5. Drive the S&OP process.
6. Work in partnership with the Operations Team to optimise materials management initiatives for the site.
7. Ensure a successful, collaborative relationship is developed with Engineering.
8. Full involvement in product development, engaging in planned trials and launch processes so that effectively organised without disruption.
9. Management of costings, along with other key department heads across throughput, labour, waste, logistics and cap ex.
10. Improve efficiencies in materials management drawing effective data from the relevant systems together to drive an effective process.
11. Liaise with key stakeholders at all levels and within each function to embed improved supply chain processes.
This Supply Chain Manager needs a seasoned, experienced individual with the following background:
1. Supply Chain Management experience in the food or FMCG industry.
2. The leadership skills to manage a medium-sized team of experienced individuals.
3. The ability to have the correct level of involvement in the detail and day-to-day operation combined with strategic ability to drive the function in line with the wider business goals.
4. An enabler of change able to drive improvements.
5. Strong S&OP experience.
6. Extensive planning/materials management background.
7. A confident approach, able to communicate openly and effectively at all levels.
8. Bright and enquiring, prepared to challenge to move the function forward.
This is a great time to join this business with a strong Exec Team in place and recent expansion and future growth planned. The team in place are strong in terms of experience and delivery but the future development to meet the needs of the business of the next few years means there is a demanding agenda. The pace won't be easy, and the nature of the product category adds to the complexity. The team have a positive, upbeat approach requiring someone with the knowledge and expertise to bring all the elements of the Supply Chain Function together and to embed it, driving improvements, into the site effectively.
