The University of Bath is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation journey. We are seeking an experienced technology leader to drive innovation focusing on HR systems. This role is central to modernising our technological capabilities and supporting the university's strategic objectives.
Role Overview: Lead technical development of HR systems and digital transformation, managing a team of three developers and driving innovative IT solutions across the university.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain HR systems, including iTrent, custom built apps and integrations, SharePoint, Power Apps and Automations used by HR.
* Lead on service delivery, ensuring progress of service requests and incidents within the HR systems remit.
* Resource planning and leadership of a team of developers working collaboratively with portfolio managers and other principal engineers and developers to scope projects and small works.
* Oversee vendor relationships monitoring performance and acting as technical liaison alongside product and business owners.
Technical Skills:
Experience of iTrent is essential for this role and working knowledge/experience of some of the following would be advantageous:
* PowerBI, Business Objects
* SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate
* On Prem to Cloud Migrations
* Managing Hosted and SaaS Services
* ITIL / Service Management
Experience:
* Resource/workload planning and management
* Strategic technology planning
* Analytical problem-solving
* Experience in higher education IT environment
Further information:
This role is offered on a full time (36.5 hours per week) permanent basis.
We are offering hybrid working in the DDaT team. This means you will work part of the week on campus in the office and you may also work part of the week from home.
Remuneration Package: A market supplement of up to £4,000 is applied for this role in addition to the basic pay.
DDaT New Starter Bonus: In addition to the great benefits DDaT has to offer, you can benefit from a £2,000 New Starter Bonus. £1,000 is payable after you have successfully completed 1 year's service. The remaining £1,000 will be paid once you have successfully completed 2 years' service.
Please note: This bonus is only applicable to certain roles in DDaT and is specified on the relevant job adverts. Bonus payments will be pro rata for part-time roles.
