What you'll do:
You will play a pivotal role in leading the relationship with the RISK IRC function, coordinating the Model Risk processes across Group surveillance activities, and enhancing governance, policy adherence, and oversight of model risk review processes. You will be responsible for establishing robust governance frameworks, facilitating model risk oversight committees, driving strategic initiatives in model risk governance, and ensuring compliance with best practices. Your role will also involve overseeing automation and technology initiatives that improve efficiency in model governance and reporting.
1. Lead the model governance framework ensuring alignment with SR11-7 and regulatory requirements.
2. Oversee governance structures that monitor model lifecycle risk, periodic reviews, and issue remediation.
3. Ensure model risk governance practices align with regulatory expectations and internal policy frameworks.
4. Chair or provide senior oversight for model governance forums and committees, ensuring transparent decision-making.
5. Oversee the production of MAB model risk governance reports, dashboards, and regulatory submissions.
6. Identify opportunities to strengthen governance frameworks and enhance transparency in model review processes.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this position brings extensive experience in model risk management, governance or regulatory compliance within a financial institution. You possess deep expertise in SR11-7 and equivalent regulatory model risk governance practices. Your strong leadership skills enable you to influence senior executives effectively. You have proven experience overseeing model validation, risk rating methodologies, and governance frameworks. Your advanced data analytics and reporting skills are complemented by your proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
1. Master’s degree in finance, risk management, economics, statistics, or a related field.
2. Extensive experience in model risk management, governance or regulatory compliance with a financial institution.
3. Deep expertise in SR11-7 and equivalent regulatory model risk governance practices.
4. Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
5. Experience in overseeing model validation, risk rating methodologies, and governance frameworks.
6. Advanced data analytics and reporting skills.
