Job Description Senior DevSecOps Engineer (SC Cleared) Duration: 9 Months Location: Hybrid working (Hampshire, South Wales or North East) Start: ASAP Rate: £600 per day (negotiable) IR35 Status: Inside We require a Senior DevSecOps Engineer (SC Cleared) for our government client to join an existing team supporting a newly commissioned platform; where you will embed Cloud best practices into the team. You will help build their AWS capability in an exciting role for a newly commissioned Data Access Platform. The Clients specialist IT and Services area invests in people and technology to drive the government ’ s Cloud first policy, delivering digital products and services using commodity Cloud. To achieve this, they embed and pioneer the use of Cloud technologies to drive statistics for the public good. Responsibilities Working alongside their Cloud Division team, as the Senior DevSecOps Engineer, you will be focusing on developing best practices and sharing into the wider team. Working on and become a subject matter expert in Cloud, especially AWS. Designing and developing infrastructure as code, source code repositories and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines to execute change on Cloud environments. Working to ‘ secure by design ’ principles and you ’ ll help form those designs as part of our multi-skilled teams including security specialists, technical architects, and delivery managers. Working closely with colleagues in the Cloud Division and the wider technical and business teams and oversee their collaborative Agile ways of working, including setting up and leading on workshops, providing steering on Agile ceremonies, and promoting project management working practices such as Kanban. Coaching and support colleagues in all aspects of the work including non-functional requirements, ensuring availability, security, capacity, and performance for the platform. Essential criteria As a Senior DevSecOps Engineer (SC Cleared), you will possess the following skills & experience: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues supported by excellent communication and customer service experience. Ability to coach, mentor and provide constructive feedback to colleagues in delivering technical solutions. Have experience of administering Cloud technology in Amazon Web Services, and understand security principles for Cloud infrastructure. Familiarity with using ‘ Infrastructure as Code ’ tools such as Terraform, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines such as Concourse. Regardless of the terms of any agreement (or of any changes in those terms) between your organisation and the position holder, the Contract fee charged to ONS will remain FIRM throughout the Contract. It would be expected that any subsequent extension(s) to the services would attract a volume discount on the existing rate. In any event, any such extension will not incur an increase in fees, unless agreed in writing by ONSs Procurement Unit - y ou must confirm your acceptance of this condition. You must break the fee proposed into (a) salary only element; (b) agency commission (with the profit element); and (c) other elements. Security Documents to be completed: The ONS applies the Government (or “ HMG ” ) Baseline Personnel Security Standard to any and all individuals assigned by a contractor to access ONS premises, property or information.
