The Role As the company transforms for the future, this role is critical in building and driving the visual and functional design of our brand. Reporting to the Group Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the creative direction, execution and strategic alignment of global design initiatives across James Fisher. Leading the design team of four, this role will establish best practices, collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver high-quality, user-centered solutions that help us to deliver our exciting ambitions. Role Accountabilities Drive the creative direction and standard for our design across James Fisher. Act as focal point for our Communications and Marketing community to understand their design needs, building strong relationships across the global organisation. Develop strategic design plans with key deadlines, budgets and KPIs that drives activity and allows you to share success. Implement a new creative design pitch process, ensuring the team share creative ideas with our stakeholders in a professional and exciting way. Lead, support and develop the design team to ensure we have the right technical capability and training in place, partnering with key strategic agencies as needed. Manage the busy workflow within the design team, ensuring quality and timeliness of delivery at all times (stepping in to re-prioritise when needed). Keep up to date with the latest design trends, technology and software, to shape and drive forward an innovative and impactful approach at all times. Champion the design team and work closely with the Marketing Manager to showcase the capability of the design team at senior level, demonstrating the value they bring. Drive exceptional safety as our top priority, always. Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications Degree or equivalent in Graphic design or related field preferable. Understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout principles will be essential. Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, suite (Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign) and Microsoft suites will be essential. Preferred experience in video editing software (After Effects, Premier etc). Animation and 3D experience beneficial but not essential. Extensive on the job experience – B2B or B2C. Experience working in technical industries or similar markets preferable. Experience in conceptualising, designing, and delivering high-quality user experiences across digital or physical products is essential. Strong track record of designing impactful digital or physical experiences. Experience of leading and mentoring teams. Strong strategic and change management mindset. Ability to think innovatively and find design solutions to complex problems. Ability to manage competing priorities and work at pace while ensuring quality delivery. Proactive, organised, agile and adaptable. Works hard but embraces fun Team player with outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills. Exceptional attention to detail.
