My client is a government funded organisation based in central Birmingham.
Job Description
1. Preparing statutory financial statements for the organisation and all its subsidiaries.
2. Coordinating capital funding allocation across the capital programme and providing strategic advice where necessary.
3. Managing the fixed asset register and supporting improvement to systems and processes.
4. Implementing accounting standards in accordance to Local Authority Code of Practice.
5. Developing systems and processes following the implementation of IFRS16 Lease Accounting and acting as the technical lead for IFRS16 Lease Accounting.
6. Acting as key point of contact for external auditors for fixed assets (PPE) and capital grants.
7. Completing capital funding posting and reconciliations between capital funding summary and deferred capital grants monthly.
The Successful Applicant
1. Qualified accountant.
2. Self-motivated with the ability to work on own initiative and as part of a busy team, with experience of delivering to strict deadlines.
3. Experience of month end processes and routines.
4. Good communication and inter-personal skills, comfortable with liaising with other teams and external parties.
5. High attention to detail and the ability to produce work to an excellent presentational standard.
6. Able to demonstrate practical capital accounting experience.
7. Experience of working on audits or previous experience within public practice.
8. Desire and ability to learn and develop new skills and be able to embrace change with a 'can do' attitude.
What's on Offer
6 - 9 month role.
£500 - £600 a day umbrella.
