Main duties of the job
* To be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based individualised plans of care.
* Assist in the management and organisation of nursing work in the ward/department.
* Maintain a high standard of patient-focused care in accordance with Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust policies and procedures.
* Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
* Provide assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care for patients, ensuring accurate written records are kept.
* Communicate with patients and carers to ensure they have access to appropriate information.
* Promote and maintain positive relationships between all staff involved in the care of the patient.
* Act in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council Code of Conduct.
* Undertake duties on different wards/departments as required by service demands.
* Demonstrate personal responsibility for compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
Person specification
Qualifications/Training
* NMC Registered Nurse in relevant field of practice (or within 6 months of completing a validated BSc or MSc course, resulting in NMC registration).
* Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor qualification or willingness to complete.
* Additional post-registration qualification relevant to field of practice.
* Evidence of continuing professional development.
* Role Specific Training relevant to specialty of the post.
* Teaching Qualification.
* Leadership Qualification.
Knowledge, experience & expertise
* Knowledge and skill to plan, deliver, and evaluate high quality, evidence-based nursing care to a group of patients within the specialty of the post.
* Experience of working with patients from a range of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
* Experience of working as part of a team, with the ability to prioritise own workload.
* IT literacy and ability to use NHS systems.
* Clinical experience in the specialty of the post.
Communication & Relationships
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to adapt to meet the requirements of patients, their families/carers, and professional colleagues.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the service.
