Qualification and Experience
1. Qualified Teacher Status
2. Degree qualification
3. An excellent class teacher
4. Experience as a primary, secondary or SEND teacher
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
1. Food technology experience, ideally to secondary/GCSE level
2. Expert understanding of innovative pedagogy
3. Experience of assessment without levels including tracking pupil progress
4. Knowledge and understanding of statutory assessment arrangements at KS2 and/or KS3 and KS4
5. Knowledge and understanding of effective strategies to manage the behaviour of pupils
6. Excellent knowledge of inclusion including SEMH, EAL, bilingual learners, minority ethnic achievement and equality (race, disability, and gender)
7. Excellent understanding of safeguarding especially the safety and welfare of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils
8. Expert knowledge of strategies for closing the gap
9. The ability and willingness to teach a range of subjects, from KS2 – KS4 and post-16 as required.
10. An understanding of a range of SEND needs, including: ASD, ADHD, Speech, Language and Communication needs, emotionally based school avoidance
11. Contribution to the educational and social development of each young person
12. The ability to form effective relationships with young people, their families (if appropriate) and external agencies
13. To ensure that young people’s views and wishes are sought and acted upon where appropriate
14. Ensure that appropriate resources and environment exist for individual pupils referred to the service, and that opportunity for inclusion are available to all our students
15. To liaise with other teachers and teaching assistants in the team to ensure effective deployment of resources
