ASSISTANT DESIGN COORDINATOR
DIVISION: BUILDING
LOCATION: LONDON, SOUTH EAST ENGLAND

As the GRAHAM business continues to grow and develop, we are looking for an enthusiastic student to join our Design Team within our Building Division. This junior role is ideal for a student working towards a degree or Technical Apprenticeship in Architecture or Construction Management. The successful candidate will support our design team and contribute to various stages of our construction projects. Good technical knowledge, creative thinking, and team working are essential components of the job role.
As an Assistant Design Co-Ordinator, you will be working with one of our experienced Design Managers to assist in overseeing different aspects of our projects while developing your own understanding. The suitable candidate will be working towards an Architecture / Construction Management / Project Management Degree or Technical Apprenticeship and will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and be able to work as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Design Support:
1. Assist in the development and coordination of design proposals.
2. Support the design team in preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules.
3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure design solutions are practical and meet project requirements.
Project Documentation:
1. Help maintain project documentation, ensuring all design information is accurate and up-to-date.
2. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other project-related documents.
Site Visits:
1. Conduct site visits to understand construction processes and gather relevant data.
2. Assist in monitoring the implementation of design solutions on site.
Technical Assistance:
1. Provide technical support to the design team during the construction phase.
2. Assist in resolving design-related issues and queries from the site team.
About You
Technical Competencies
Essential
* Working towards an Architecture / Construction Management / Project Management related Degree or Equivalent Apprenticeship
* Demonstrate excellent IT knowledge minimum Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Demonstrate an understanding of construction management practices
* Demonstrate strong communication skills
Desirable
* Health & Safety Induction Including Management System CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS Card
* Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD, Sketchup, Revit, Navisworks
* Demonstrate previous experience or knowledge of working onsite and interact with other members of the construction site team (Design Team).
