We are currently recruiting a Deputy Technical Editor to join their team on a full time, permanent contract, located in Gloucester, to play a key role in ensuring the quality and consistency of aviation theoretical training materials used globally by aspiring professional pilots. This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of aviation education by working on a range of digital channels, including eBooks, eLearning, and AI-driven platforms. This position would suit an individual who is a TKI (Theoretical Knowledge Instructor) offering a salary up to £49K pending experience. To be considered for this great opportunity you must have extensive professional aviation experience and knowledge as a pilot and/or as an experienced ATPL theoretical knowledge instructor. Deputy Technical Editor main duties: Content Management: Maintain and enhance the quality and consistency of content across a wide range of digital channels including books, CBT, AI-software, eLearning, classroom teaching slides and question databases using a bespoke system. System Management: Manage the relationship with our publishing software suppliers to ensure the speedy elimination of anomalies and rapid development of new publishing capabilities. Prepare content, metadata and materials for publication via digital publishing platform. Write, commission and review new technical content. Contribute to research and development of new products, learning systems and teaching techniques. Provide editorial and subject matter expertise support to the Editor in Chief, and editorial/support team. Provide image, animation and video briefs to media development team. Manage and improve data management systems and ensure all product data is meticulously managed, safeguarded and regularly audited. Support development and operation of change management software plus maintain quality assurance of content databases. Deputy Technical Editor required skills and experience: Hold or have held an ATPL, have extensive ATPL theoretical knowledge as a TKI. Familiar with ICAO, EASA, and UK CAA regulatory frameworks. Recent experience of EASA and/or UK CAA training environment (within 5 years). Exceptionally high standard of fluency and competence in spoken and written English. Experience in data and file management. Experience in working with and editing complex technical material. An immediate start can be available for the successful candidate.
