Activities of the team/department:
To plan ensure the safe running of the Advanced Warning Sign (AWS) delivery and collection works, control, manage and co-ordinate all operational activities in line with company policy, processes and procedures. Provide a safe and environmentally friendly operation, service delivery and customer satisfaction. Assist clients with Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).
Purpose of the role and your responsibilities:
1. Safely deliver the AWS delivery and collection service on the Surrey Highways Contract.
2. Ensure the service is delivered in accordance with the contractual obligations as agreed with Surrey County Council.
3. Ensure the operational team are trained and competent to undertake the roles required of them.
4. Maintain accurate facility records, including room capacities, equipment inventories, and maintenance schedules.
5. Plan and organize training sessions for new hires and existing staff, ensuring they understand facility procedures, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
6. Participate in planning meetings related to projects.
Formal qualifications required:
Current Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) certificate (preferred) & awareness of Traffic management (Chapter 8).
Skills required:
Competence with using Microsoft Office computer programmes, such as Word, Excel, Project, TEAMS.
Experience required:
At least 1 year experience in a supervisory role.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in record keeping and report generation.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively.
Manage stock levels for signs and printer accessories.
Knowledge:
Demonstrable knowledge of planning and supervision.
Personal qualities:
Flexible and approachable attitude.
