VISITING MUSIC TEACHER (VMT) – GUITAR
An opportunity has become available for a self-employed Visiting Music Teacher of Guitar for private lessons, and to become part of the exceptional musical education on offer to our students.
Our Music Department has a vibrant and busy atmosphere and is full of highly motivated students and dedicated staff. Visiting Music Teachers complement an exciting curricular and co-curricular provision. Music at Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School is thriving, with a broad extra-curricular programme, with performances in classical, jazz and pop styles valued and nurtured. The choirs and instrumental groups give regular concerts, and recent performances range from choral evensong at Southwark Cathedral, the Jazz Band’s performance at the Orchard Theatre Dartford, School Production of Matilda, and the outdoor Summer Arts festival showcasing student bands. Students who take individual music lessons are expected to join in school ensembles appropriate to their ability as well as encouraged to form their own informal groups and bands. You can view some of our output at linktr.ee/csgsmusic. Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs) are self-employed and the contract for provision of lessons is between parents and the VMT. VMT Service Agreements and arrangements for instrumental lessons are managed by the School, who act as an agent in making the contractual arrangements with parents.
Currently there are four to five hours of teaching available and an interest in contributing to our extra-curricular programme is desirable. Rates of pay are reviewed annually with the current academic year's figure set at £41/hour. If you have any questions about this vacancy, please contact Mr John Ward, Director of Music via John.Ward@csgrammar.com .
Shortlisted applicants will have an interview and be asked to give a demonstration lesson to a pupil provided by the Music Department.
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and
