Reed Accountancy have recently began working with a business who are looking for an assistant accountant to join their team. The right candidate will possess all the below experience and will be in a position to hit the ground running with minimal supervision and be able to work alone or as part of a team. \n\nPrimary Duties:\n\nOversee daily financial activities, ensuring precise record-keeping, reconciliations, and prompt financial reporting.\nGenerate comprehensive management accounts and financial statements to aid business decisions.\nExamine profit and loss figures to spot significant trends, collaborating with business leaders to provide insights that drive strategic growth and profitability.\nRegularly assess, refine, and enhance internal processes and controls to boost operational efficiency and ensure compliance.\nIdentify automation opportunities and implement innovative solutions to streamline workflows, reduce manual tasks, and improve accuracy.\nManage VAT return preparation and submission to relevant authorities, coordinate payroll and pension details with external providers, and ensure compliance with other statutory obligations.\nHandle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing, accurate record-keeping, and optimal cash flow management.\nAssist in the completion of annual accounts and work with external accountants to facilitate year-end reporting, including being solely responsible for the completion of accounts for two smaller subsidiaries within the group.Qualifications:\n\nProven experience as an assistant accountant or in a similar role, fully qualified or qualified by experience, with a desire to advance.\nStrong background in management accounts, reporting, and business acumen.\nExcellent data analysis and communication skills.\nAdvanced system skills, including proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).\nResilient and proactive in overcoming challenges and driving process improvements.\nExperience with Sage is advantageous.Benefits:\n\nOpportunities for professional growth and development in a supportive environment.\nA happy, friendly, supportive, and casual working environment.\nTraining available/encouraged to expand your skill set and support your success.\nEnhanced sick leave allowance after an initial period of service.If you have the above experience and are looking for a new position follow the steps to apply today and we can arrange a confidential chat
