The role is ideal for students studying any science degree, particularly Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, and Biomedical Sciences. The primary duties of this role will be to lead a project that improves the risk assessment approaches for nicotine and beyond-nicotine products. This may include processing of toxicological and/or experimental data to advance our understanding of our products and writing technical documentation on processes for product assessments. What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization? This individual will be directly impacting the future of toxicological assessments for nicotine and beyond-nicotine products, helping us maintain our duty of care to our consumers and deliver for the business. Reports to Scientist II – Toxicological Evaluations Number of Direct Reports N/A Core Relationships Internal – Product Development, Product Compliance, Analytical Sciences Geographic Scope Local Travel Required N/A WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Collaborating with toxicologists and business stakeholders in an R&D setting to understand toxicology in industry; Compilation and review of toxicological and experimental data to increase our understanding of our products; Review of market data (e.g. consumption) on use of products; Presentation of findings and conclusions to the department; Writing technical reports on findings and conclusions to use for future assessments; All work is carried out ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all information to maintain stakeholder trust, support, and cooperation. CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE? Do you have any understanding of Toxicology? Would you be interested in learning more about the practical applications of Toxicology? ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacology, or Biomedical Sciences; Confident user of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Teams; Good attention to detail with a keen problem-solving attitude; Positive attitude along with a drive to succeed and flexibility in adapting to new tasks and changing priorities; Good communication, organizational, and planning skills, and ability to work both as a team member and independently. BENEFICIAL Understanding in some aspect of risk assessment, or product stewardship; Good understanding in statistical analysis of data.
