Contract type: Full Time (37.5 hours per week) – Permanent Location: Brighton 80% remote The Quality Assurance and Enhancement Officer is a key member of the Quality Assurance and Enhancement (QAE) Office, responsible for assisting the Academic Registrar, Deputy Registrars and other colleagues in the central oversight of academic quality and standards across the network globally. The role holder will be involved in supporting the main areas of the QAE team, which include: assurance, standards & regulations; registry functions and course approvals and validations. This role will have a particular focus on the gathering, uploading and curation of programme information/data. ABOUT THE ROLE Oversee the collation, uploading and curation of the Study Group’s master data regarding approved programmes. Submitting reports to appropriate academic governance bodies on changes to programme information. Working with colleagues in the QAE office to identify key changes to programmes that could require enhanced quality assurance activity to ensure continued delivery of high-quality educational experiences for our students. Identifying and addressing issues with programme information / data in good time to ensure effective information is available to colleagues across Study Group. Implanting initiatives from academic governance bodies regarding programme information and data as and when these arise. Co-ordinate and implement the annual programme information audit that complements the annual monitoring activity undertaken by the QAE office attend and produce reports for approval events as a key member of panels making quality assurance/compliance decisions. Coordinate, oversee and produce reports from the annual audit. Prepare reports, draft papers and present papers at academic governance committees, as appropriate. Play a role in the continuous improvement of the data storage, gathering and curation mechanisms of the Study Group to ensure that they remain fit for purpose. Work with colleagues within the QAE Office to share best practices around the Study Group network of centres. Work to engender positive working relationships throughout the network of Study Group centres. Identify how Study Group Centres are effectively embedding procedures to ensure that programme information is kept up-to-date and accurate. Help colleagues in the network identify risks regarding poor quality provision or a drop in academic standards so that improvements can be made. Work effectively with all parties concerned to ensure the smooth running of approval and monitoring processes for centres. When required, work with all parties concerned to ensure the successful delivery of QAE Office projects. Be a resource for Study Group Centres in all aspects of programme data management and to aid them in implementing quality assurance and enhancement policies and processes. Work to gather evidence that appropriate policies and controls are in place across the network of provisions, that they are being been applied consistently and comply with Study Group requirements. Where required, play a role in the operational aspects of the Study Group Centre’s quality assurance processes and/or the local academic governance mechanisms to ensure that they are being delivered effectively. Where needed provide additional help and/or cover for colleagues at Study Group Centres. First point of contact and referral for operational issues from colleagues around the network regarding programme information and changes to that information. Be able to maintain data and statistics as appropriate and provide reports to the Academic Registrar to demonstrate any indication of trends and performance as appropriate or requested. Play a role in the design and delivery of specific parts of the QAE Office’s strategic plan ABOUT YOU An undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrable commitment to continuous professional development. Experience in quality assurance or regulatory compliance. Experience in data management and curation. An understanding of data governance and decision-making processes. Experience of working in the Further or Higher Education sectors (desirable). Experience working within a regulated organisation and meeting the expectations of external stakeholders (desirable).
