Job summary
As a result of internal promotion, we are looking for a 12 month fixed term Band 5 dietitian to join our rotation program working at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham (QEHB). You will join a friendly, proactive and patient-focused team of dietitians and dietetic assistants, and be a part of the wider multi-professional Therapy team. QEHB is a regional centre for cancer, trauma, burns & plastics and renal dialysis, providing highly specialist cardiac, liver and neurosurgery services to patients from across the UK.
We have 8 rotations, each lasting 6 months, allowing you to work within established multidisciplinary teams in a wide range of specialist areas such as general medicine, cardiology & cardiac surgery, diabetes, renal medicine & surgery, respiratory, haematology, oncology, liver medicine & surgery and GI medicine & surgery.
We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic Dietitians with a commitment to providing high quality, evidence-based patient care. These are ideal positions for any dietitians looking to work in an acute hospital setting supporting in-patients and out-patients.
For further information, please contact Mrs Laura Nicholson (laura.nicholson@uhb.nhs.uk) or Mrs Sara Price (Sara.Price@uhb.nhs.uk).
Your clinical caseload will reflect the rotation within which you are based, being a blend of in and/or outpatient work under the supervision of a Band 7 specialist dietitian who will guide and support your learning and development within that team/specialist area.
As part of our preceptorship and student training programs, there will be opportunities for your personal & professional development as well as the training and education of future Dietitians and other healthcare professionals. You will be expected to attend clinical update meetings as part of the QEHB Dietetic team and have access to education specific to your role and grade. We actively encourage continuing professional development for career and service development to promote the best in clinical care, research, innovation, and education.
