Major Duties:
As Medical Director, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving the success and innovation of our medical services, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, President, Chief Clinical Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President of Quality and Corporate Compliance. Your leadership will help shape the future of behavioral and medical health care at our facility, ensuring excellence in service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement. You’ll have the autonomy to make key decisions and lead initiatives that make a lasting impact on both the organization and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Regulatory Expertise: You’ll be the go-to expert for reviewing and interpreting Washington Administrative Codes (WACs), Revised Codes (RCWs), CARF Standards, and Federal regulations related to medical and psychiatric services.
* Quality Assurance & Improvement: In partnership with the VP of Quality and Corporate Compliance, you’ll spearhead continuous quality improvement initiatives, ensuring patient needs are met while maintaining compliance with all regulations. You'll play an instrumental role in evaluating and improving medical treatment outcomes.
* Recruitment & Leadership: As a natural leader, you'll recruit, mentor, and foster relationships between physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants, building a collaborative and high-performing team.
* Fellowship Development: Collaborate with local hospitals and community partners to develop and oversee Fellowship programs, offering innovative training opportunities for the next generation of healthcare professionals.
* In-Service Training: Stay ahead of industry trends by preparing and delivering in-service training sessions for clinical staff, focusing on emerging trends in behavioral health and medical care.
* Program Development: Take a hands-on approach to developing and implementing new programs that integrate physical and behavioral health, creating comprehensive care models that treat the whole person.
* Strategic Planning: Work closely with management to set and achieve agency goals, driving innovation and efficiency in medical programs and services.
* Clinical Oversight & Consultation: Offer clinical consultation to programs within the agency, ensuring expert guidance is always available. You’ll also oversee medical programs and services, ensuring alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
* After-Hours Availability: Provide critical higher-level oversight by being available after hours to ensure seamless operations and patient care.
* Comprehensive Patient Care: Lead the way in developing, implementing, and evaluating treatment plans that restore and maintain patient health, collaborating with external providers and referring patients when necessary.
* Community & Partnerships: Build strong relationships with community agencies, clinics, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and develop specialized training programs in collaboration with pharmaceutical companies.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
* Medical Degree: Required; specialization in addiction medicine strongly preferred.
* WA State Medical License: Current WA State DOH license with prescriptive authority, with additional certifications in addiction care highly desirable.
* Clinical Expertise: Experience working with patients facing complex co-morbidities, offering comprehensive and integrated care solutions.
* Relationship Builder: Strong ability to build rapport and foster collaboration within a diverse team of providers, promoting a cohesive and supportive environment.
* Leadership & Communication: Excellent management, written, and verbal communication skills that inspire and motivate staff, while effectively managing clinical operations.
* Tech-Savvy: Adept with technology, particularly in managing medical records, reporting, and data analysis.
* Conflict Resolution: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and drive team success.
