As a Therapy Assistant Practitioner, you will be working with the Occupational & Physiotherapists.
The Therapy Assistant Practitioner Band 4 development will use enhanced skills to provide direct high quality and effective therapeutic care and support to patients, including those with more complex needs. Within the scope of the role, the post holder will independently (unsupervised) plan and deliver individual or team tasks where the understanding of role boundaries and the importance of supervision and carrying out appropriately delegated tasks and plans is essential.
The post holder will be responsible for assessing and prioritising their own caseload and accountable for providing interventions accordingly. The post holder will be required to complete the relevant competencies required for the post and participate in 7 day working.
Main duties of the job
This role involves working with both the physiotherapists and occupational therapists within the Neighbourhood Team, covering both traditional community cases as well as Discharge to Assess pathways.
You will be involved with delivering patient-centred care with the overall aim of maximizing independence and supporting individuals to return to life beyond the hospital. A rehab ethos is key to understanding and progressing your clients in their functional journey. Being aware of your own scope of practice and knowing when to request support/feedback to the team to guide practice is essential.
