The Central Procurement team has an exciting opportunity for a forward-looking, self-motivated, commercially-driven Category Manager to oversee the management of non-pay expenditure for the University and to lead the development of sourcing strategies to deliver value-for-money and improved services for our students.
You will be responsible for leading the development of procurement plans and strategies for key areas of non-pay expenditure and maximizing the value for money obtained in the acquisition of goods and services through sustainable, efficient, and effective practices including the management of risks, and compliance with Public Procurement Regulations.
As a Category Manager, you will be a point of contact for all procurement queries and will coordinate activities with other members of the team where appropriate.
You will have experience of project management techniques, developing category strategies, and managing complex procurement projects including business cases, options appraisals, tender documentation, tender evaluation, and contract award processes.
You will have strong communication skills and experience in building relationships at senior levels, as well as a good understanding of procurement best practice.
