We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Clinical Psychologist to join the Children’sPsychology team atPoole Hospital.Our small psychology teamwork closely withourpaediatricconsultants,nursesand other allied healthprofessionalsto support bothoutpatientsand admissions.The successful candidatewill be an integralmemberof thediabetes and oncologyteamstohelpassess andsupportthe emotional well-being of the children and their families.Theoncology teamworkclosely with Southamptonandthe post-holder willscreen,assessand supportchildren both onand post treatment.Within diabetes thesuccessful applicantwill contribute to annual review clinics,screen newly diagnosedfamilies& supportchildrenwith mental health and diabetesrelated issues.
Akey aspect of the role is the provision of supervision, teachingand consultation.The post-holder will attend weekly MDT psychosocial meetings.Serviceevaluationand audit will also be an important and valued element of the role.
Clinical and professional supervision will be provided bythe LeadClinical Psychologistor an external supervisor asappropriate.This opportunity is suited to someone who is creative and innovative and candemonstrateexcellentclinical,communication skills whilstdemonstratingcompassion and flexibility within this busy service.

To provide psychological assessment and intervention to young people and familiesin the paediatric oncology and diabetes service. Toscreenemotional healthandprovide targeted support.Toprovidehighlyspecialistconsultation,supervision and training toother professionals and colleagues.
