The Inside Sales Representative at Kawartha Metals Corp. is responsible for introducing and providing excellent customer service and quality to new and existing customers. They will be responsible for quoting, selling, and ensuring their customer orders are completed while maintaining communication with the Production and Distribution Supervisors. Additionally, they will recruit new business opportunities through cold calls and current customers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Create sales orders for incoming customer calls and emails daily.
2. Source material and provide pricing to customers.
3. Negotiate terms and prices with margin and consult the Sales Manager on items that exceed authorized limits.
4. Maintain communication with Distribution, Production, and Logistics to ensure all customer orders are completed and delivered in a timely manner.
5. Complete cold calls to potential new customers during downtime.
6. Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and work in a safe manner.
7. Other duties/projects as assigned by the Management team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
1. Statistical and analytical knowledge using general business math skills.
2. Knowledge of the steel/metal industry.
3. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
4. Organizational skills and high attention to detail.
5. Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Interpersonal and customer service skills.
Education and Experience:
1. Business Diploma an asset.
2. Three to five years of experience in a sales role.
3. Three to five years of experience in the steel industry.
