Your Role and Responsibilities
In this role, you'll:
1. Lead enforcement activities that ensure businesses and citizens comply with essential environmental health regulations.
2. Investigate complex cases in areas such as food safety, housing standards, and environmental protection, making decisions that directly affect the wellbeing of the community.
3. Advise, educate, and support businesses and the public, using your expertise to promote best practices across Nottingham.
4. Collaborate with local, regional, and national partners, contributing to multi-agency initiatives that safeguard public health.
5. Take charge of prosecutions and legal actions, leading compliance efforts and ensuring adherence to critical environmental health legislation.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking candidates who are:
1. Qualified Environmental Health professionals with a degree or diploma in Environmental Health and a certificate of registration from the EHRB (or equivalent).
2. Experienced in regulatory enforcement, with comprehensive knowledge of environmental health legislation across domains like food safety, housing, and environmental protection.
3. Effective communicators capable of engaging with the public, businesses, and stakeholders, providing guidance, conducting inspections, and leading enforcement efforts.
4. Problem solvers who can analyse complex information, make decisive judgments, and resolve issues with confidence and efficiency.
5. Team-oriented leaders who can spearhead projects, mentor colleagues, and contribute to the overall success of our service.
