User Researcher - Contract
Location: Hybrid, Birmingham Rate: £500 per day Inside IR35
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated User Researcher to join our dynamic team on a contract basis. You will play a crucial role in understanding our users' needs and translating them into actionable insights that drive user-centered design decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of GDS standards and a proven track record of delivering impactful user research within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, conduct, and analyse a range of user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, surveys, and contextual inquiries.
* Develop and maintain user personas and user journey maps to effectively communicate user needs and behaviours.
* Work closely with product managers, designers, and developers to ensure user research findings are integrated into the product development process.
* Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the organisation.
* Deliver clear and concise research findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
* Work within an Agile environment, participating in sprints, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
* Ensure all research activities adhere to GDS standards and best practices.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience as a User Researcher, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
* Extensive experience working within the GDS framework and adhering to its standards.
* Demonstrated expertise in user-centered design methodologies.
* Strong understanding of user journey mapping and persona development.
* Experience working in Agile environments.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into clear and actionable insights.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
* Experience with planning and executing research with users with accessibility needs.
